I did say that last week was quite tricky in terms of picking long odds wins and so it proved. Other than my rock solid advice to pile as many Qoins as you have on Scandal, none of my tips came in, I am sorry to say.

We only have 5 matches this week so there are fewer opportunities to win. The further bad news is that we are entering the pre-tournament playoffs so we no longer have the safety net of previous form within the same group to act as a guide for predicting outcomes.

However, if you are smart about it there is always profit to be made, it is just a question of how much. As we have fewer match-ups I am going to be giving tips on each one.

Tips for Week 15:

1) Love Of My Life vs My Melancholy Blues

My Prediction: Win for Love of My Life. I did have this down as a win by a Vote Difference of 50 but on reflection that is probably a wild stretch, given the popularity of MMB.

Bets to consider:

Home win at 1/5 – not a huge return on this bet but to me it will be a big surprise if LOML does not win so I will be loading up on this outcome to generate a healthy profit.

VD 26-50 at Evens – this looks like an unspectacular bet but if it is a winner you are doubling your money and multiplying that figure by whatever your bet multiplier is, so you can still win big.

VD 51-89 at 14/5 – this VD is unlikely but it still seems possible to me.  Worth a flutter.

VD 16-25 at 1/5 – this is a relatively poor return but the bookmaker has this as the most likely outcome and there is nothing wrong with betting on the most likely outcome if that is what you think will happen.  You can bet on this outcome to try to cover your stakes on your slightly longer odds bets, meaning you should break even at worst on your VD bets overall.

2) The Prophet's Song vs You’re My Best Friend

My Prediction: Win for The Prophet's Song by a VD of 20

Bets to consider:

Home win at 5/7 – this is a somewhat risky bet but gives a healthy return for a win/lose/draw bet.

Draw at 500/1 – I may possibly have recently commented that no-one in their right mind bets on a draw but they do occasionally happen and with these kind of odds for a match that could be close, you would be foolish not to have little bet on the draw, just in case.

VD 26-50 at 7/2 – unlikely outcome but not unthinkable.

VD 16-25 at Evens – best value bet for a plausible outcome

3) We Are the Champions vs Good Old-Fashioned Lover Boy

My prediction: Win for GOFLB by a VD of 20.

Bets to consider:

VD of 16-25 at Evens is the one I will go most heavily on.

VD 51-89 at 100/1 – I really don’t see this one happening but those odds are too tempting to totally ignore, particularly now the matches are so unpredictable.

4) Bicycle Race vs Play the Game

My prediction: win for Bicycle Race by VD of 30.

Bets to consider:

The draw at 100/1 is once again a serious tempter. If it happens and you don’t bet on it you will kick yourself.

VD 26-50 at 13/5 looks like one of the better value bets going this week.

VD 51-89 at 100/1 – I do not expect this to happen but those odds are luring me in….

 5) Crazy Little Thing Called Love vs Let Me Entertain You

My prediction: win for Crazy Little Thing by VD of 50 or 60

Bets to consider:

Home win at 4/7 – of all the matches this week, this is the one I feel most confident in calling the winner. I will be absolutely shocked if LMEY wins this one so go as big as you like on a home win.

VD 51-89 at 5/1 – I could be underestimating Let Me Entertain You (I have been badly wrong before!) but in my eyes this seems like a likely outcome so this is potentially the biggest payout this week.

Bets to avoid

Any of the 90+ VD bets. There are some very long odds but now we only have well liked songs left, these are very unlikely outcomes.

General tips

Tip 1: Bet on multiple matches each weekend

If you bet on more matches you can increase your chances of winning and spread your risk to cushion the blow when you inevitably lose a bet.

Tip 2: Consider making multiple bets on the same match up, if the odds make it worth it

It is fine to risk losing some bets as long as you are in profit overall.

Tip 3: Study the form

The outcome of matches already played won’t tell you what the upcoming results will be, but they are a good indicator for getting into the right ballpark.

Tip 4: Look for long odds value in the Vote Difference bets

The Odds Committee is generally pretty solid at predicting the outcomes but its radar does occasionally stray. There are some very tempting odds on offer here and there for outcomes that perhaps aren’t as unlikely as the odds suggest.

Tip 5: Invest your winnings in levelling up your avatar

Once you start getting the benefit of the increasing bet multiplier you can really start to rake it in. It is worth the up front cost.

Tip 6: Do not buy skills until you have enough Qoins to fully level up

There is no in-game benefit to buying skills until you have levelled up, so if you buy skills without levelling up all you are doing is tying up your Qoin cashflow, which means less money available for betting.
