Week 10 - Top Tips
Here are my tips on maximising your Qoin. Follow at your own risk!
General tips
Tip 1: Bet on multiple matches each weekend
If you bet on more matches you can increase your chances of winning and spread your risk to cushion the blow when you inevitably lose a bet.
Tip 2: Consider making multiple bets on the same match up, if the odds make it worth it
It is fine to risk losing some bets as long as you are in profit overall.
Tip 3: Study the form
The outcome of matches already played won’t tell you what the upcoming results will be, but they are a good indicator for getting into the right ballpark.
Tip 4: Look for long odds value in the Vote Difference bets
The Odds Committee is generally pretty solid at predicting the outcomes but its radar does occasionally stray. There are some very tempting odds on offer here and there for outcomes that perhaps are more likely than the odds suggest.
Tip 5: Invest your winnings in levelling up your avatar
Once you start getting the benefit of the increasing bet multiplier you can really start to rake it in. It is absolutely worth the up front cost.
Specific match-up tips
Misfire vs Lily Of The Valley
Surely this will be a comfortable win for Lily, just a question of how big a margin?
VD 51-89 at 50/1 is a high risk but potentially high reward bet.
VD 25-50 at 12/5 may be worthwhile as an addtional side bet
Bet heavy-ish on an Away Win (Lily) at 4/6 to cover your stake in your other bets. If you do this then you should either win a little or win a lot.
The Loser in End vs Stone Cold Crazy
VD 90+ at 100-1. I do not think this outcome will happen but it is not as unlikely as 100-1 would suggest so is potentially worth a small punt. You can cover your stake on the 90+ bet by betting on SCC to win, which is nailed on.
Lazing on a Sunday Afternoon vs Bohemian Rhapsody
VD 26-50 at 20/1 is interesting. I would expect Bo Rhap to win by more than 50% but LOASA is well liked and might manage to keep the gap to less than 50%.
Good Company vs We Are The Champions
VD 16-25 at 20-1 is possibly worth a shot. Not everyone loves WATC. Again, cover your stake with a bet on WATC to win and you should at least break even.
Sheer Heart Attack vs Teo Torriate
VD26-50 at 50/1. I think this is a really hard match to call and I expect it to be a fairly close SHA win. However….50/1 for a 26-60 vote difference seems like good value. It is unlikely but feasible.
Mustapha vs Fat Bottomed Girls
VD 51-89 at 10/1 is tempting. Consider covering your stake with a bet on the inevitable away win for FBG.
Bets to avoid
Seven Seas of Rhye vs Brighton Rock
Avoid SSOR to win at 5/6. The bookies have SSOR as slight favourite. Results in the group so far suggest it will be tight but Brighton Rock could edge it.
The Prophet’s Song vs We Will Rock You
Avoid WWRY to win at 4/6. WWRY has been made marginal favourite but I would not be surprised to see Prophet Song win this one. And let’s face it, it would be funny to wind up the Cardinal by pushing The Prophet's Song as far into the tournament as possible!
That's it for this week. Good luck everyone!
