Week 12 - Ursell's Top Tips
If you placed bets on my tips from last week you would have won big on two of them. Not all of the tips came in but they don’t need to all be winners to make a lot of Qoins!
The Queen World Cup offers fairly slim pickings for big wins this week because there are fewer match-ups than usual, but if you are smart you can still make some serious profit. I have scanned the odds and these are my tips:
Tips for Week 12:
Dreamer’s Ball vs Sail Away Sweet Sister
The bookies have this as fairly tight. I agree it probably will be but I think SASS will win. A Vote Difference margin of 16-25 at 2/1 looks like a solid bet. At 20-1 a VD of 26-50 may be worth gambling a few of your Qoins. As usual, you can cover your stake on your VD bets by betting boldly on the match winner. SASS is not an absolute banker for this one but results so far in the group suggest it is more popular than DB and it is one of the highest rated champion songs so far on the Seaside Pod Review poll.
More of That Jazz vs Don’t Try Suicide
This match is another tricky call and we are in uncertain territory again. But I think a MOTJ win with a VD of 26-50 is a good value bet at 20-1.
The Hitman vs I Want It All
VD 90+ bets are always risky because it only takes a small number of people swimming against the tide to keep the difference to under 90%. At 14/5 the 90+ VD bet doesn’t exactly offer huge returns but it is enough to tempt me. I actually like The Hitman as a song more than most but I can’t think of any reason why anyone would rate it more highly than IWIA, unless they are being mischievous.
I Was Born to Love You vs A Winter’s Tale
I actually think this one will be really close but it is another match up that is unpredictable so I am going to put a bet on VD 26-50 at 20/1. This one really is a throwaway chancer bet but you never know. As I said, it is slim pickings this week.
Bijou vs Rain Must Fall
If you want to go for a straightforward match-up win, load up on Bijou. At 4/9 it offers reasonable returns on a large stake and it is a win you can be confident will happen.
Bets to avoid
Leaving Home Ain’t Easy vs Save Me
It is an inevitable big win for Save me and there is nothing here that offers any real value.
My more general Qoin maximising advice is below for anyone who hasn’t read it before. Good luck everyone.
General tips
Tip 1: Bet on multiple matches each weekend
If you bet on more matches you can increase your chances of winning and spread your risk to cushion the blow when you inevitably lose a bet.
Tip 2: Consider making multiple bets on the same match up, if the odds make it worth it
It is fine to risk losing some bets as long as you are in profit overall.
Tip 3: Study the form
The outcome of matches already played won’t tell you what the upcoming results will be, but they are a good indicator for getting into the right ballpark.
Tip 4: Look for long odds value in the Vote Difference bets
The Odds Committee is generally pretty solid at predicting the outcomes but its radar does occasionally stray. There are some very tempting odds on offer here and there for outcomes that perhaps aren’t as unlikely as the odds suggest.
Tip 5: Invest your winnings in levelling up your avatar
Once you start getting the benefit of the increasing bet multiplier you can really start to rake it in. It is worth the up front cost.
Tip 6: Do not buy skills until you have enough Qoins to fully level up
There is no in-game benefit to buying skills until you have levelled up, so if you buy skills without levelling up all you are doing is tying up your Qoin cashflow, which means less money available for betting.
