Week 16 - Ursell's Top Tips
There’s no getting away from it. I had a nightmare with my tips last week. To be fair I did very clearly warn that the matches are going to be harder to predict from now on, so at least I was right about that!
I still somehow managed to make a profit overall but it was thanks to spreading my risk over multiple bets, betting heavily on Crazy Little Thing Called Love, plus my bet win multiplier saving me.
I am going to lick my wounds and plough on, so follow with caution but these are my tips for this week:
Tips for Week 16:
I Want It All vs Breakthru
Breaktrhu is a popular track but a win for IWIA with a VD% of 26-50 doesn’t seem far fetched to me and at odds of 20/1 I think that’s the best opportunity for a long odds win this week.
IWIA to win at 4/6 is a potential decent return for a win/loss bet. I am struggling to see Breaktrhu winning this one but I have (very occasionally) been known to get it wrong.
Other matches
Outside of that bet, I think the most likely outcomes have the shortest odds this week, so bet on some of the shorter odds outcomes. You can still make some big gains doing this, particularly if you have a bet win multiplier from levelling up your avatar.
The Show Must Go On and innuendo are surely nailed on winners so you can safely load your Qoins up on those songs to win. These Are the Days of Our Lives is perhaps slightly more risky but that would be a big upset if it lost to I’m Going Slightly mad
Bets to avoid
Play The Game vs Crazy Little Thing Called Love
I slightly fancy CLTCL to win this one but after Play The Game surprised me by knocking out Bicycle Race I honestly have no confidence in which was this match will go.
As usual my general Qoin gaining tips are below and they are still solid, despite last week’s blip. We will very soon be heading for the final tournament so the action is only going to hot up from here on in, and potentially become even harder to call. Good luck everyone.
General tips
Tip 1: Bet on multiple matches each weekend
If you bet on more matches you can increase your chances of winning and spread your risk to cushion the blow when you inevitably lose a bet.
Tip 2: Consider making multiple bets on the same match up, if the odds make it worth it
It is fine to risk losing some bets as long as you are in profit overall.
Tip 3: Study the form
The outcome of matches already played won’t tell you what the upcoming results will be, but they are a good indicator for getting into the right ballpark.
Tip 4: Look for long odds value in the Vote Difference bets
The Odds Committee is generally pretty solid at predicting the outcomes but its radar does occasionally stray. There are some very tempting odds on offer here and there for outcomes that perhaps aren’t as unlikely as the odds suggest.
Tip 5: Invest your winnings in levelling up your avatar
Once you start getting the benefit of the increasing bet multiplier you can really start to rake it in. It is worth the up front cost.
Tip 6: Do not buy skills until you have enough Qoins to fully level up
There is no in-game benefit to buying skills until you have levelled up, so if you buy skills without levelling up all you are doing is tying up your Qoin cashflow, which means less money available for betting.
